July 17, 2024 3 min read

Meet Amber Corcoran, BraveLove's Director of Development.

Q: How did you first hear about BraveLove?

A: I first heard about BraveLove in 2018 through my friend Austin Eudaly. After learning that I was adopted, Austin told me about BraveLove and mentioned that his friend was on the board of this great non-profit. He suggested I check them out and I’ve been following BraveLove ever since!

Q:How long have you been working with BraveLove?

A: Since mid-July of 2024

Q: What's your role with the organization?

A: As the Director of Development, I am responsible for implementing the organization's fundraising strategy and helping BraveLove grow. My role involves planning and executing various fundraising campaigns, building relationships with donors, and identifying new opportunities for financial support.

Q: What's one of your favorite parts of your job?

A: I am looking forward to the opportunity to meet and build relationships with current and new donors. I am also excited to plan impactful fundraising events that support BraveLove's mission.

Q: Why do you care about BraveLove's mission?

A: BraveLove changed my perception of birth moms, including my own. As an adoptee, I used to be embarrassed about my story and who my birth mom was. However, after learning from BraveLove's resources I realized that my birth mom was brave. Placing me for adoption was the most loving act she could do for me, and I am grateful for that.

Q: What do you do for fun?

A: I love to bake, travel, go to sporting events and concerts with my husband, and host friends and family! On the weekends we're found watching my nephew play on the soccer/football fields.

Q: What does life look like for you these days?

A: My husband and I recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary! We are now house hunting and traveling around trying new bakeries and coffee shops!

Q: I know you can’t pick a favorite story or film, but which one really stands out to you?

A: I really enjoyed the "Adoptees Say Thank You" series.

Q: What are you reading right now?

A: The Power of Moments by Chip Heath and Dan Heath

Q: Favorite TV show at the moment?

A: Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Rec

Q: Go-to coffee or tea order?

A: Unsweetened tropical iced tea (black or green are both great with me!)
