"There were a lot of people who didn't understand how I could have one and place another."
Kandice was already parenting her 9-month-old son when she found out she was pregnant again. As a single parent, there were challenges that made parenting a second child incredibly difficult.
"I came across something that said open adoption. Once I started reading about that I was like okay that sounds like something that I think that I can do and still be a part of my son's life."
Fast forward to today — there is still hardship around this decision, but neither one of her boys will have to wonder if they were loved.
